  The Exposition Boulevard Bus Station

Freeway Flyer buses stop at the Exposition Boulevard station, adjacent to the University of Southern California.  Very few people ever get off. Very few people ever get on.  At most hours of the day, the station is deserted, except for its small population of pigeons.

The Exposition Boulevard station is a beautiful facility.  Passengers access their buses via stairways that cut through openings in the second level of the Harbor Freeway. Sunlight shines through these openings. The interplay of colored tiles, polished metal stair rails, concrete pillars, and shadows have transformed the station into a compositional case study--one of the best within L.A.'s collection of public architectural sites.
